Summer Waves 14×42 Elite Pool | P4001442D Frame Pool
Our P4001442D Elite Frame Pool brings professional pool construction to your backyard with a spacious 14-foot diameter and 42-inch water depth. We engineered this above-ground pool with our reinforced FrameLink™ steel connection system that locks horizontal beams and vertical legs into a rigid structure rated for years of seasonal use.
The triple-layer polyester-mesh-PVC liner resists punctures, UV degradation, and chlorine damage while maintaining flexibility in temperatures from 32°F to 110°F. With 4,000 gallons of water capacity, the P4001442D accommodates up to eight swimmers comfortably and sets up on level ground in approximately 60 minutes with two adults.
- 14-foot diameter × 42-inch wall height — 4,000-gallon capacity
- FrameLink™ powder-coated steel frame with rust-resistant zinc coating
- 3-ply TriTech™ liner: polyester + polyester mesh + heavy-gauge PVC
- Includes drain valve with garden hose adapter for end-of-season drainage
- Compatible with standard 1,000-1,500 GPH cartridge filter pumps
Frame Construction & Durability

We built the P4001442D around our FrameLink connection system that outperforms traditional T-joint designs found in budget pool kits. Each horizontal rail snaps into vertical legs with a dual-lock mechanism that distributes water pressure evenly across 12 connection points.
The powder-coated steel resists corrosion in chlorinated environments, and we apply a zinc undercoating to every tube before the topcoat goes on. Field testing in humid coastal climates shows our frame maintains structural integrity through five seasons of assembly and disassembly cycles. The same engineering principles we use across our Elite Frame Pool collection ensure the 14-foot model withstands wind loads up to 40 mph when filled to capacity.
Liner Materials & Water Retention

TriTech 3-Ply Liner System
The P4001442D liner uses three bonded layers engineered for different protection roles. The inner polyester layer contacts pool water and resists chlorine concentrations up to 3.5 ppm without degradation. A middle polyester mesh adds tear resistance — puncture tests require 47% more force to penetrate compared to standard 2-ply liners.
The outer heavy-gauge PVC layer blocks UV radiation and provides the structural stiffness that keeps walls vertical under 4,000 gallons of water pressure. We heat-bond all three layers in a continuous manufacturing process that eliminates weak seam joints.
Setup Requirements & Site Preparation

Before unpacking your P4001442D, verify you have a level area measuring at least 16 feet square — two feet of clearance beyond the pool perimeter on all sides. We recommend a crushed stone or sand base 2-3 inches deep to cushion the liner bottom and prevent grass or root punctures.
Slope tolerance is 1 inch maximum across the 14-foot diameter. Greater slope creates uneven water depth and stresses the frame on the low side. Use a 4-foot carpenter’s level and transit method or rent a laser level for accurate readings.

P4001442D Pool Questions
We recommend a filter pump rated between 1,000 and 1,500 gallons per hour for the P4001442D. This flow rate cycles the pool’s 3,800-gallon capacity every 4-6 hours, which meets NSF residential pool standards for proper filtration. Cartridge filter systems work best with our Elite pools because they capture finer particles than sand filters without requiring backwash water waste.
Our 1,000 GPH Cartridge Filter Pump System is specifically sized for this model and includes all hoses and fittings needed for installation. You can also use any third-party pump with standard 1.25-inch or 1.5-inch hose connections.
We design our Elite Frame Pools for seasonal use and recommend draining and disassembling before your region’s first hard freeze. The steel frame and liner both withstand freezing temperatures when stored dry, but ice expansion inside a filled pool will damage the liner and potentially bend frame components.
If you live in a mild climate where temperatures stay above 32°F year-round, you can leave the pool assembled with proper winterizing chemicals and a debris cover. In most of North America, plan to take down the pool in October and store components in a garage or shed until spring.
Your installation site must be level within one inch across the entire 14-foot diameter. Slopes exceeding this tolerance create uneven water depth and concentrate weight on the downhill side of the frame, which leads to structural stress and potential frame failure over time.
Use a 4-foot carpenter’s level and straight board to check multiple directions across your site, or rent a laser level from a hardware store for the most accurate readings. If your yard has a grade, consider building up the low side with compacted sand or crushed stone rather than digging into the high side, which can create drainage problems.
The P4001442D safely accommodates eight average-sized adults (total weight approximately 1,600 lbs) or up to twelve children under 100 lbs each. These limits assume normal recreational swimming and floating — not multiple people jumping simultaneously or gathering in one concentrated area.
The FrameLink steel frame is the structural limiting factor, not the liner. Exceeding weight limits stresses frame connections and can cause the horizontal rails to bow outward. For pool parties with more than eight adults, we recommend our larger 15×48 Elite model with higher capacity ratings.
The P4001442D package includes only the pool structure itself: frame components, liner, drain valve, and instruction manual. The entry ladder and ground cloth are sold separately as add-on accessories.
We offer a Universal 42-Inch Pool Ladder designed specifically for our pools with 42-inch walls, rated for 300-lb weight capacity with non-slip steps. The 14-Foot Pool Ground Cloth provides a protective barrier between your lawn and the liner bottom, which significantly extends liner life by preventing punctures from rocks, roots, and grass growth.
Two adults typically complete setup in 45-75 minutes following our printed manual and video guides. The process involves laying out the ground cloth, connecting the 12-section frame, draping and clipping the liner, then filling with water while smoothing wrinkles.
No special tools are required beyond a rubber mallet for snugging frame connections. First-time installers should budget 90 minutes to review instructions carefully. The same two people can disassemble the pool for winter storage in about 30 minutes after draining, with most of that time spent folding the liner properly.
Summer Waves provides a 90-day limited manufacturer warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship on both the steel frame and TriTech liner. This warranty begins on your purchase date and covers manufacturing defects, frame connection failures, and liner seam separation under normal use conditions.
The warranty does not cover damage from improper installation, failure to maintain water chemistry, punctures from sharp objects, or wear from exceeding recommended weight limits. Register your P4001442D within 30 days of purchase on our website to activate warranty coverage and receive setup tips via email.
